 The Great Lent has begun and if you’re christian chances are you know what this is. Long story short, The Great Lent or The Great Fast officially begins on Clean Monday, seven weeks before Pascha ( Easter ) and runs for 40 contiguous days. It has its religion-related purposes, but personally I do it to feel better with myself, to eat healthier (most of the time), to eat mostly vegan meals (if you’re interested in knowing the benefits of eating vegan you can look it up by yourself, because I don’t want to force & influence anyone) and to expend my taste palette by trying new recipes.  The foods abstained from are meat, fish, eggs and dairy products, wine, and oil. According to some traditions, only olive oil is abstained from; in others, all vegetable oils. In my house we use all kinds of vegetable oils including olive oil, except the last week of the Lent. My Top 4 Smoothie Bowls

Smoothie bowls were my signature post on my instagram ( @eatwithsteff ) until my blender broke. At the moment I’m really missing them, because they were my favorite thing to make.  In fact smoothies are the best way to start your day, because the best time to eat fruit is in the morning [ the fructose in the morning is the best fuel for your brain and the best food for your digestion as it’s full of fiber ] + your body feels lighter and full of energy at the same time.  Here are my top 4 smoothie bowls:  The first one is „The Sunshine“ smoothie, which consists of: 1 cup of frozen mango, 1 frozen banana, 1 persimmon, 1/2 orange and 100 ml of soy milk. I topped it with some extra diced persimmon, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and shredded coconut. The second one is „The Berry Cotton Candy“ smoothie, which consists of: 1,5 frozen banana, 5 frozen strawberries, 1/4 cup of frozen blackberries, 1 tbsp of chia seeds and 150 ml of almond milk. Cinnamon Rolls

Winter hasn't ended yet and in addition these days it is becoming harsher where I live. So what do you do to overcome a cloudy & rainy day especially when it's super cold outside ?!   For me it always has to be a lazy day, whether I have school or not. I just get up tired and I'm all day sleepy, so what I love to do is wrapping myself in a soft & fluffy blanket and drink a cup of tea (maybe two or three) with a side of a delicious cinnamony dessert.   Did I just say DELICIOUS CINNAMONY DESSERT?!   Let me tell you a secret. My house has been smelling like cinnamon just broke into for the past week, because if you haven't guessed it yet, I made the most delicious cinnamon rolls and to be honest I like the aroma I get to experience every time I enter into my house.
